Art Exhibits

The Lynnwood Public Facilities District Art Committee has partnered with the Lynnwood Convention Center to bring public art exhibitions to the Center for the past six years. These exhibitions are on display at the Lynnwood Convention Center and are FREE to the public!

The exhibitions are rotated twice a year and with each installation there is an Artist Reception where the artists themselves can talk about their work and answer questions from the public.

The mediums vary from painting, photography, and mixed media to contemporary quilting.

The public are welcome to come and view the current art exhibits during Convention Center regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

A rainy day visit to NAAM – Northwest African American Museum – Seattle, WA

The Northwest African American Museum is in the Central District of Seattle, in the old Colman school. The museum has a nice open layout….feels very spacious, but not in a sterile, uninviting way. There are permanent as well as temporary exhibits (photos of James Baldwin in Turkey when I visited), a gift shop, a library and geneaology research center…..as well as plenty of rooms/artist studio space for community events. If you have not made it out to NAAM, do it now! It’s an especially good rainy day activity – – I can vouch for that!
